2014 -Assistant Principal at Carden Conejo School

In 2009, Ms. Flavin joined Carden Conejo as the Upper Grade Science Specialist. In 2010 she created the Carden Conejo Lego Robotics Club and Competition Team, and in the fall of 2014, she was appointed to the role of Assistant Principal.

Ms. Flavin loves science and hopes that her students will, too.  She developed her love for science by doing science.  Ms. Flavin volunteered on an EarthWatch team and traveled to the dry tropical forest in Jalisco, Mexico to help researchers track the number of carnivores living there. She participated in research projects as an undergraduate in the UCLA Psychology department, delivering batteries of tests to students at the Corinne Seeds University Elementary School. After graduating, Ms. Flavin was hired by Dr. Vicky Mays to work on an AIDS research team studying why people engage in behaviors they know are risky.

Ms. Flavin loves the hands-on lessons the FOSS program provides, and looks forward to implementing the new Engineering is Elementary curriculum.
