Academic Achievement

All children should find joy in learning.  A solid academic learning environment and enhanced character development are essential components of a well-rounded education.

At Carden Conejo School we strive to educate in a warm and nurturing atmosphere providing a vast and challenging curriculum. Our homeroom curriculum is deeply rooted in language arts and writing. We are unique to most elementary schools in that we offer numerous classes taught by single-subject Specialist Teachers in the following areas:

Public Speaking is an integral part of a Carden education. It is something that alumni mention when they talk of skillsets learned at Carden Conejo that have enabled them to succeed.

To enhance and further build upon the curriculum, students participate in age appropriate Field Trips to museums, art & music events and local attractions.

Community Service & Special Assemblies:

In addition to Academic Achievement, Carden Conejo School has a rich partnership with several area non-profits. We have multiple community service events throughout the school year that build on the students’ commitment to philanthropy. These events include, but are not limited to, Hunger Awareness & Action Week with FOOD Share, Halloween & Valentine’s Day Greeting Cards with Casa Pacifica, Toy Drive with Toys for Tots, Holiday “Dove” Gifts with Casa Pacifica. We also raise funds twice a year for local charities. The charities we support vary each year and include My Stuff BagsBoys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo ValleyRotary Dreamcatcher PlaygroundHaiti Healthcare Parners, and many more. Many of these community outreach programs are organized by the Carden Conejo Parents’ Association.

Students are also exposed to health & fitness, culture, the arts, and much more through the school’s Special Assemblies program. Special Assemblies are held two to three times a year and are funded primarily by the Carden Conejo Parents’ Association.
